The Bosnian goalkeeper indicated that the Belgian star improves
those around him when he is on form, also looking forward to the Premier League
clash with Tottenham
Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic was hugely impressed as he watched Eden Hazard end
his goal drought after 356 days in the club's 4-1 win over Bournemouth on
Saturday.
Hazard netted twice, his first and
second Premier League goals of the season, as Begovic was included in the
starting line-up following Thibaut Courtois dismissal against Manchester
City.
And the Bosnian goalkeeper was full
of praise for his team-mate, suggesting that Chelsea benefit from the
Belgium winger being at the peak of his powers.
“He brings us
game-winning skills, he takes on players and makes situations and
chances for the players," Begovic told Goal.
“[Drawing in] the defensive
players, that frees up other guys to do other things. When he is on top of
his game he is a huge asset for us.”
Incoming boss Antonio Conte continues
to monitor the progress of his future charges and Goal understands that
Hazard is happy to stay at Stamford Bridge next season, following the Euro
2016 tournament in France.
And following almost two months out with injury, Begovic
revealed his suprise that Hazard was able to fire on all cylinders during the
clash with Bournemouth.
“He has been a little bit frustrated with his season
and his injuries and stuff but he looked pretty fresh today," the
goalkeeper said. "He was
